The M16A is well-designed, and for the most part, well-made. Out-of-the-box, the throat, leade and crown were a little rough. The trigger also felt like a single stage with a relatively light pull. Using a hand crowning tool from Brownell's, a rotary tool and various polishing bits (abrasive embedded in hard rubber), I was able to clean up throat, leade and crown. I also cleaned the bore after 15 patches or so. Pushing an alloy (no lead) pellet through helps evaluate bore quality and cleaniness. The trigger group is actually quite sophisticated, and self-contained as a component. The adjustment screw closer to the muzzle adjusts sear engagement (clockwise to reduce second stage pull), and the adjustment screw further from the muzzle adjusts first stage travel (clockwise to reduce first stage travel). The factory configuration had no first stage, but the second stage was too far "back" (counter-clockwise) for a long-creepy pull. After adjustments, this trigger group can easily achieve a sub-pound second stage pull and a crisp break. The factory regulator set point works well for field target competitions. The hammer spring tension adjuster was almost all the way in (clockwise) from factory. Backing the HST adjuster all the way out (to flush with the back of the action) changed muzzle velocity from 914 fps to 900 fps (shooting JSB 10.3gr). This reduces cocking effort, probably saves some air, and shoots more accurately. After all is said and done (3 hours, mostly working on the crown), the accuracy of the M16A is remarkable, certainly enough to hang with much more expensive rifles in a field target match (where wind and distance gauging are far more likely to cause a miss). So far, JSB 10.3gr pellets and JSB 10.03gr slugs are both very accurate shooting out of this M16A with a muzzle velocity of about 900 fps.
The pictures on line do not do this gun justice. It is very well made and accurate. My first group at 30 yards was very tight, even without cleaning the barrel. Nice trigger and good power. It does not seem too pellet fussy, as it is my only gun that does well on the 13.43 JSB .177 ammo. Looking forward to stretching out the target distance further and trying a variety of pellets.

What a nice accurate gun! Very powerful in a compact package. Weight isn't bad even with the aluminum bottle. I shoot from a table mostly but it is well balanced and feels good in my hands. The ease of use, great trigger and fantastic accuracy make this a very nice shooter.
