Performed a comparison of this scope against several others: A Bushnell 4200 6-24x40, Bushnell 3-12x44 Engage, Athlon Midas BTR 4.5-27 Gen ll and Discovery ED PRS 5-25x56 all at comparative powers. All scopes listed were superior, though the NV 4-16x44 was closer to the Athlon except for eye box (Athlon superior). My review of the ED PRS in relation to the Athlon Midas BTR places the Athlon midway between the Discovery NV 4-16x44 and the Discovery ED PRS for resolution/clarity. For the money, the NV 4-16x44 SFP is a very good scope that should work well for all but the longest ranges at highest power where resolution/clarity suffers in comparison to the other scopes listed. The difference between Discovery ED and HD glass is readily noticeable. My only concern is return of an NV001 (see review) in exchange for the NV 4-16x44 SFP. There was a delta of approximately $60 between the two. After a number of E-mails to Wes spanning almost a month, I received no response or acknowledgement of the cost difference and no refund of that difference. All such correspondence went unanswered. I personally covered the cost of return shipping of the problematic NV001. Had considered the LHD 8-32X50SFIR SFP for my Anschutz 54 as the next purchase (even if a credit as opposed to a refund had been offered)... Consequently, no response, no longer a repeat customer.
Hi Rob, very sorry for missing your emails! I was not monitoring the email address you were sending to as well as I should have been. My apologies! I have sent you the refund tonight on the difference. All the best to you and thank you for comparing the scope and taking the time to write a review.
